I thought I would take a minute to post before leaving for Louisville. Lillie is finished with Preschool and had her program Thursday night. She was so cute to watch. At one point during a song there was a interlude with just music and she sang her own little solo. Gracie went on stage too and had a lot of fun. I have pictures, but the lighting in the auditorium is not too great for pictures, so they are dark. I will post them in a few days.

Gracie's bday party was last night and it was fun. She recieved some great presents and loved everything. She would even hold up the clothes, not just throw them aside. When she was finished opening them, she asked for the rest of them. I had put them back in bags and she thought that she had more presents left. It was adorable. I will post some pictures next week.

Well, I must finish getting ready for our trip to visit my brother. Have a great weekend.

Hungry Babies

Well, Lillie has 1 day of preschool left. Yesterday her class had a picnic at the park, and thank God, it didn't rain! Josiah came over after class and played for awhile. They were so cute. They played dress-up and Lillie was the princess and Josiah the prince. While they were playing, I heard Lillie say something about having to nurse her baby so I took a peek. She had a princess aurora bear laying across her lap with a nightgown covering it like a blanket. She was just quietly sitting. She later came and told me that Josiah was in her nursing chair and her baby was hungry. I couldn't help but laugh a bit. I would have taken a picture, but the camera was dead. :(

On another note:

I recently joined Swagbucks.com where I earn points for searching. It is free and who doesn't search for thing online!?! I am able to redeem my points for many different items. Please check it out by clicking here. I only used it for 2 days and have already earned quite a few points.

Random Thought

The girls and I just got home from church and as they are eating their kids meals I thought I would give you something to think about. If a movie is rated PG-13 (some material may not be suitable for children under 13) then is it appropriate to give out kids meal toys for that movie since kids meals are marketed to 12 and unders? Hmmm.

I was looking at the paper that came with their meals and opened it to see a poster of a Star Trek ship with the movie rating and was a little puzzled by it. Here the company is passing out toys geared towards the movie, but being sure to say that the movie is not really appropriate for anyone eating this meal. I really don't have a problem with Star Trek, even though I am not into that kind of science fiction, I am just curious to your thoughts.

By the way, something has happened whether it be on our end or the company's end and we are now off of dial up and I can't believe how fast our connection is. I can actually watch the videos that some of my fellow bloggers post!

Frustrated

I am completely frustrated. We decided to get out of the dark ages and get broadband (Yes, we still used dial-up), however since it was supposedly installed on Wednesday we have nothing. Broadband has not worked and no one seems to know why. I spent everyday calling at least once sometimes twice to the company. The customer service people are really nice, but I am sure they are sick of me. I will brag that I have kept my cool and been as Christ-Like as possible. I don't know how much longer I can maintain that attitude though :). We have now been told we will get another month of free service, but will have to wait until the 29th for a tech to come out and try to fix. So until then I will be using dial up to access the internet.

To update on our last week besides the above: Lillie is doing great on her allergy medicine - no more little old man coughs here! She is also doing great with her letters. She knows most of her letters by sight and has been becoming really interested in the sounds of each letter. I am trying to work with her when she shows interest and I am so impressed. Lillie can sound out quite a few letters. She is riding her bike like a mad woman now too. One day she just took off. She only has 2 more days of preschool left. I am excited, but sad because she has several good friends thru preschool and I know she will miss them.

Gracie is just nuts. She has been trying to pedal her trike just like Lillie. The only problem is that she can't reach the pedals when she turns. It is very cute to watch. Both girls are loving the new swing set and ask to go out and swing everyday, multiple times. Gracie is not sleeping too well though and that is tiring for me. She seems wake up several times a night and won't go back to sleep with out me coming in and holding her hand. It usually only takes a minute and she is back to sleep, but still getting up and down is wearing me down. Gracie is having a birthday on Monday. She will officially be two although if you ask she will say three. I can't believe how fast she has grown.

The girls and I are going to visit my brother in Louisville next weekend. All are pretty excited. Alex unfortunately has to work and can't come with us, but we are going to ride down with my parents.

I am sure I have given you plenty to read and will try to update my blog when I can, but it is a bit harder using the laptop and dial up because I fat finger the keys so much. Have a great memorial day weekend.

Update

It has been a pretty mundane week. I have been busy with housework and running a couple of errands. I took Lillie to the doctor on Monday about a chronic clearing the throat/cough she has had for awhile. He thinks that it is allergies. We have to give her Benadryl for a week and if that helps he will switch her to another allergy medicine. I am not thrilled to have to give her daily medicines, but she does seem to be doing better. Lillie has also had a couple of playdates this week. She had a lot of fun playing with her friends and has talked almost constantly since about all that she did at each of their houses.

Gracie is cracking us up daily. She is very animated. She will start to moan in a deep voice and then chase us around. It is quite funny. She is talking so much. I was reading about how at this age she should be able to put a few 3 word sentences together and she has well surpassed that! She has quite a sense of style too! I had dressed her in jeans and a cute shirt Thursday before I took Lillie to preschool and when I came home she had on polk-a-dot pink sweats and a yellow tank top. My little brother was watching her and said she went to her room and brought out this outfit and started to change. As he knows, I do not really mind so much what they wear at home and I would have let her change to. She did look really cute when Lillie and I walked in.

Ryan is such a good sport. I was able to talk him into staying longer on Thursday so I could mow the grass. It was in need of a trim and with the rain forecasted I wasn't sure if it would get mowed until next week. Thanks Ryan for staying!

Have a great weekend.

Kiss and Tell

On the way home from church Wednesday Lillie informed us that Josiah had kissed her arm.

We had Josiah over yesterday after preschool and at one point he leaned over and kissed her shoulder. She immediately pushed him away and said "He kissed me again! Don't kiss me! We aren't married and you only do that when you are married!" Poor Josiah, shot down at the young age of 4. Although he shouldn't be too worried since she said that she is going to marry him one day.

I also want to wish my little brother Ryan a Happy Birthday!!!

Happy birthday to you!!!

Birthdays and Teas

It's been awhile since my last post with a lot of happenings. I want to thank all who have been praying for my uncle during his open heart surgery. Everything went well and he is on his way to a great recovery. I had the opportunity to watch my cousins little girl Addy on Friday during his surgery. She was absolutely a doll. Lillie told me several times that she was big enough and she would watch Addy and Gracie. She even told me to go ahead a do whatever cleaning I wanted (who really wants to clean) to do and she would take over for me. The three girls read, played Barbies and blocks without any bickering! When Addy's mom came to get her, she actually cried because she had to leave. I am just glad she enjoyed her day with us.
We had Lillie's fourth birthday party on Saturday. It was a Princess Aurora party. She would not leave the cake until it was present time. I do feel a little bad because I figured out yesterday that the figurine of Aurora and Prince Philip actually spins when you wind it up. She received a lot of great presents and we got her a Princess bike (which I realize that although we have video of her on it, we have not still shots). A couple of the dresses are too small and when I mentioned about exchanging them for a size bigger Lillie got upset. She told me that they were her special bday presents and she did not want to take them back just because I didn't like them. I told her that I did like them, but if they were too small we needed to get the right size otherwise she would not get to wear them after all. Overall she had a great birthday with way too much candy as she tossed and turned for an extra long time in bed!
I did have a picture of Gracie on Lillie's new bike!
Sunday was Lillie's actually birthday and after church she picked to go to McDonald's for lunch. We also made brownies for her Sunday School class. I really can't believe how time flies. It seems like only yesterday Alex and I were new parents bringing home our baby girl and now she is four! Everyone always say that enjoy them while they are little because they grow up too fast and how true that is.
My church had a mother/daughter tea Monday night. Sister Karen had asked me and my mom to speak a little and I was extremely nervous. I do believe everything went well. I did survive! A lady even came up to my mom afterwards and asked if she would pray with her for her daughter. That is what it is all about ministering to other moms and daughters!
Well, I have wrote an awful lot and you may have already gotten bored so I will let you take a break. Have a great day.
